Solidify Blood

Well, I picked up my copy of Melty Blood: Act Cadenza today that my import shop had on hold for me after work ^^. It's my first time really playing the game and by that i mean practicing and honing my skills. I've played the game before. But it was never my cup of tea in the fighting game arena. Why? cuz it plays like Guilty Gear X which i'm only a casual fan of. GGX is basically a copy of the X-Men Children of the Atom game which of course evolved into the God Almighty Marvel vs. Capcom 2. I enjoyed the heck out of these style of games but never really competed in them (seriously) cuz a) it doesn't suit my Street Fighter/KoF style of fighting and b) i suck at these games :P. The crazy fast hectic HIGH Combo-ness and button-masher friendly of these games turns me off a little, but the old 2D roots that these games originate from is what sucks me in to playing them...if only for a while.

My first exposure to the Melty Blood series was when I downloaded MB: Re-ACT for the PC because of all this hype i was hearing about it (i didn't even know about Tsukihime then). It was fun but it sorta suck cuz my computer pad is shit for fighting games and y'all know that i use stick for fighting games. Nevertheless a fun game which i couldn't play cuz there was no competitors. My local arcade got Melty Blood: AC a few years ago but unlike JPN, it wasn't popular in my arcade and disappeared less than a year or so. I think some arcades in the city still have it. That was my 2nd exposure. I remember only playing a handful of times. I remember using Ciel (my fave chara in Tsukihime), Arcueid and Sion (non Tatari), only cuz Sion looked cool, hot and i dug her style and moves. Like Guilty Gear X and Marvel vs. Capcom 2 when they first came out, i only played when there was no one playing or if there's shitty ppl playing :P.
That was my only practice as i didn't want to go waste some tokens against someone good. I play Guilty Gear games (ie. XX Slash) and MvC 2 against ppl now, since i own the games and have some decent skills, but my win streak won't last long ;). With that said, MB:AC plays like those games (well more like GG since it's 1 on 1). It's a pretty easy game for me against the CPU on it's hardest difficulty. If you got some skills in the GG series, it'll be a cinch once you learn the character's moves. However, there's so much more depth to it in applying combos and stuff. I've started watching match vids for this at go for broke now, as i used to just watch a few vids of sion matches randomly w/out really caring. Now, i gotta different approach since i own the game. So yeah, now i have the game, the charas that i'm using are (once again), Sion (non Tatari), Ciel, Arcueid and i decided to add Aoko cuz i like her moves...and she's hot ^_^. The game's graphics are pretty good but haven't improved a whole lot when the first MB game came out, thus it's so so. Animations are smooth as i remember them, it's up there w/ the later Neo Geo titles (but doesn't touch Garou). Music is just fab. Anyways, it's a total recommendation for casual gamers (since it's super button masher friendly) and must for Type Moon fans if they haven't been exposed to the game EVER.

since this post was mostly game-related, mind as well add more:

A rumour that a Dead Rising sequel is in the works - yesh, i played the demo....it's SO AWESOME. The 2nd game that makes me want a 360 (after Table Tennis)
From Software says "fuck you" to the PS3...for now...ahahaha, will more companies join?
Y'all prolly think i'm anti-PS3 but i'm not. so here's some Fatal Inertia screens :P

Oh yes, NA 360 owners should note AQ interactive inked a deal and Bullet Witch WILL be brought over. Brought to you by the same developer (Cavia) that gave you GitS SAC for the PS2, this game's system looks unsurprisingly similar to it.
Finally, since my post is Type Moon related, here's some busts to go w/ the PS2 Fate/Stay Night - Realta Nua game which i didn't care for when the news popped up a couple of days ago, nor do i now.

I decided to add another Sora no Iro Mizu no Iro pic cuz... well...i checked out the show again today (it's so yum and good) and thus, i'm in a mood for more ASA!!

Damn, my copy of Melty Blood has yet to arrive :(
Really can't wait to get my hands on it though :)

Pity about the Wrestle Angel score, I was gonna check that one out. Although I watched the trailer and it seemed to be all card based - do you know if you actually fight in it or do you just do damage by dealing cards?

Heh, yeah I saw that SNK chick yesterday - definitely a hottie ;)

Oh yeah, I'm digging all the hentai pics and stuff. I only have a few hentai titles (Sexfriend, Wet Summer Days and another I can't remember) but am always wanting to check out more.
You haven't seen After Class Lesson by any chance? It looks kinda cool but I don't know whether to go for it yet or not...

@ johnny: about wrestle angel, no you do not actually fight and it's basically a card battle game. You pick certain cards each round against the cpu, by picking the right card you're either on the offense or defense (grapple kind of thing). when you're on the offense you can follow up w/ devastating power moves by again, selecting the right card. the Super Famicom version i tried played like that, it's sorta tedious but matches are quick the graphics are improved in this one (obviously) and there's a slews of mega hotties in this game which is the only reason that's attracting me. I really dig the art and character designs. But yeah, not a great game.

oh i've seen after class lesson (aka houkago nureta seifuku), ask me any hentai and i've probably seen it, well 'cept yaoi or loli focused. Anyways, ACL isn't anything great storyline wise, it's the tried and true basic of "loser teacher rapes student, student becomes slave, and helps loser teacher rape more students who become slaves as well" ending is what you'd expect too. However, this Milky title has some pretty good animation and is 5x better than Hitozuma Onsen & Ane to Boin IMO.

@ dj ether: just get magic swap and the keys or slide card depending on your system. E Z.
