Wii-lcome to the Twilight Zone

OH YEAH BABY! IT'S HERE! Just had to walk in front of all the ppl waiting/camping at EB this morning (the store got in quite a few cuz it's not hard to find one as Nintendo provided more than enough just as promised). So, got the system, extra nunchuk, extra wiimote, Trauma Center: Second Opinon (FUCKIN' A) and Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. EBgames was also offering special promos, one of 'em being a free Gamecube game. Had the choice between Geist and Viewtiful Joe 2. Went w/ Viewtiful obviously. However, i already have the game on PS2 but i plan on givin' this one to a bud since he doesn't have it. Anyways, juss tons of pics of the system which may be boring for some. Enjoy the pic at the end though (hot sketch). Oh well, shall wii play now?

That is one good looking system. How are the games?

Hell fucking yes! Awesome stuff dude. Seriously cannot wait until I get mine! :)
You had much time with either game yet?

Sweet.

Exactly how big is this bar thingy you need to put near your TV anyway? Alas, I'll have to shift my SD My-ZHiME figures to make room for it ^^;

I must say, that wii looks beautiful and those disc cases are A LOT better than that of Blueray or HD-dvds.(I'm guessing thats the case PS3 will be using?). Nice elves pics on last posts too. I love elves...^^ Zelda screenshots looked amazing. You must be having the time of your life!

@ somber: well, i had another buddy get the wii, and he got two controllers as well, so we we're playing 4 player Wii tennis a lot (w/ my gf and my roomie). Wii Sports has mostly been the game i've been playing. I haven't had time to really check out Zelda yet. Popped it in and it feels a lot like Ocarina (where it sorta starts off slow). It's hella fun though. Beautiful Gamecube graphics. Played about 4 scenarios of TC. Great fun as i'm not super familiar w/ the DS version but have played a bit of it on a friend's. Checked the VJ2 to see gamecube compatibility. wasn't working at first, had me worried or if eb gave me a defective disc, until i realized i was putting it in the wrong way (stupid me :P XD). 'Label faces right side out/up'.

@ johnny: looking forward to yours as you got tons of games coming as well as the sweet JPN ones (ie. Bleach, one of my most wanted). Haven't had much time w/ the purchased games like in my reply w/ Somber. I don't plan on really starting on Zelda until early december (when i'll be done finals).

@ digi: the sensor bar is about a foot long (12 inches). smaller than i thought it would be. it takes into account on where you set it up when you start the system up. you can place it on the top or bottom of the TV (which you'll prefer, so you don't have to move your ZHiME figs).

@ muhootsaver: the cases are the exact same ones as standard amaray dvds cases (ie. ps2 dvd cases). nothing special except it's white (and games have the 'great new smell' to it). Having the time of my life? Well, there's better things that've happen (and hopefully more to come) but so far soooo goood :-D.

Great pick-ups R8. I must say that I'm enjoying Wii Sports more than I thought, I rock at baseball, but I suck @ golf...badly.lol

Hey R8, you know a lot more about games than I do. How is Trauma Center? Been reading up on it and seems to be worth a look.

Also you have any opinions on Marvel Ultimate Alliance? It looks like a good multi-player game and I was originally was going to get that, but went with Zelda at the end.

@ pb19: yup, wii sports is totally addictive w/ buddies around. i actually suck at the batting of baseball, though i'm pretty good at pitching (6 strikeouts in the 3 innings).

@ moy: trauma center is SO addictively fun, plus it helps to have a new playable super hottie nozomi weaver/mira kimishima (JPN Ver.) who's design i absolutely (and obviously) love (pretty sure the new art is by kazuma kaneko of shin megami tensei fame). The story is great and the only downfall i'd say is that the game is short. u could beat this game in a weekend (so it may not be worth 50 bucks for some). however, the operations are really fun and you'd probably want to go back and play 'em again for a higher ranking.
As for M:UA. I'm not too sure on the Wii gimmick itself (performing specials w/ gestures) but the game is really fun, especially w/ 4 ppl. i played the 360 version and it's basically X-MEN Legends (which is awesome) w/ the marvel universe characters now. The reviews for the game have been good as well so I don't think you could go wrong w/ it. plus it's sorta cool that you can 'be' a super hero now :D.

Yeah, I got some today so I'll put the pics on my LJ later. Can't wait for the JPN stuff to ship either. I should have the console and games on the same day (aside from Bleach which isn't a launch title) so expect some major haulage pics when it arrives ;)

You heard about the Zelda shortage in the US? My copy ain't shipped yet and there's reports of copies going for $100+ on eBay...

heh, i'm tempted to sell my zelda since i haven't played much of it. wonder how much a barely used one would go for. only reason why i would sell it, is cuz i don't have the time to dedicate myself to it for another 2 weeks. and by then, i'm sure there'll be an ample supply.
